Apache County Fair 2011

As I mentioned in the previous post, we left Allyson to stay with my parents for a couple days, so to relieve my mom from my little nusiance, I rode back to SJ early with Alissa on Wednesday night (she had to be back for the pig show on Thursday morning). Allyson did really well without us! (which didn't surprise me - she likes everyone else better than her parents most days! guess we are not 'cool' enough! or maybe we just dont spoil her enough:) I enjoyed the break but was glad to get my little girl back:)

The steer show was Friday morning. I know I am such a redneck, but I love watching the 4H shows. Brings back good memories:)

Ben got off at noon on Friday and met my dad up by Springerville for his Unit 1 Archery Elk tag. They hunted on Saturday morning as well but had no luck! However today (wednesday), my dad got a nice one!

We watched the animal auction on Saturday afternoon and Ben did some scouting for his elk hunt coming up in unit 2.

On Saturday night we watched the rodeo and took allyson on a few rides at the carnival!

Labor Day Weekend 2011

We orginally had no plans for Labor Day weekend (a first for us!) but we knew we did NOT wanna stay in this outrageous heat. So it was either Prescott or SJ; and since Ben's parents were out of town on vacation, SJ it was! Alissa and I were able to ride up early on Friday morning with my dad (he had come down for a business meeting), which meant we got to go to the RV-SJ football game!

it was a great weekend away from the heat! We already knew we were coming back the following weekend for the fair (and for my dad's elk hunt) so we left Allyson in SJ to stay with grampa & grampa for a couple days!
