Memorial Weekend

On Thursday night we headed up to Prescott for Amanda's (Ben's sister) high school gradution. We had already requested Friday off because my engine was SUPPOSED to fixed by then and the guys were gonna put the engine back in my car on Friday. But of course it wasn't (this has happened twice now to us) So we just hung out on Friday and then went to the graduation Friday night which luckily was moved inside! It was freezing!! Our original plan after this was to head over to Lake Mead with my uncles for the weekend, but the bad weather kind of put a damper on things! So instead we decided we would just hang out with my family, so on Saturday we headed over the St. Johns. We had fun with my family playing card games, riding the dirtbike (Ben had the "best crash ever" quoting my cousin Tyler), and eating and playing at Lyman Lake. We are now back to the life of work, but we are anxiously awaiting our big trip of the summer to Cali and a cruise to Mexico! Here are a couple pics from the weekend...

Had to put this pic in there to give my dad props for braving the cold water at Lyman!! He is almost 45 and can still waterski like a pro!

I DID IT!

Okay, so I don't really like posting things about myself because I feel like I'm just bragging, but I guess I better post about this one since I spent the last four years of my life doing it! On Thursday I "officially" graduated with my Bachelor's of Science degree in Accountancy with honors from ASU. (Go DeViLs!) It is surprisingly a bitter-sweet feeling. I DO enjoy having absolutely nothing to do on a Sunday night, but I know I am not going to like working 40 hours a week! I actually liked mixing it up with work and school. The ceremony itself was nice...the speakers were actually quite funny, but announcing all those "W.P. Carey School of Business" graduates took forever! I did take my cell phone with me, so at least I was semi-entertained with texting my dad the entire time. I have to tell about the two funniest texts I received from him...the first text was sent right after the speaker told us to applaud our parents for everything and his text read, "I don't want an applause, I want a gun!" Then my dad sent a text that told me to turn around so they could take a picture; I did and then asked him if they got it; he replied, "Yes, you look good, now go get a job!" He thinks he is so funny! (luv u dad) I was fortunate to have so many people come, including my great-grandma (she is 92!). And I am so thankful for all of you who came! We had a BBQ at our house afterwards and it was fun to just sit a visit. It was definitely hard work to finish in four years with no summer school, but it was all worth it! Now it's onto graduate school! I will be doing the Master's of Accountancy program at University of Phoenix Online since I get such a big discount through Ben! On another note...Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers! (Especially mine:) I hope that one day I can be half the mom that she is! LOVE YOU MOM! <3

State Softball

I am so grateful for eventful weekends full of family! I think I go thru withdrawls sometimes being away from my family, and not just my immediate family, ALL my family. I am so greatful for my awesome family! On Friday I studied hours and hours for my audit final which was from 4:40-6:30pm. My sister's first round of state for softball started at 6:45pm! So I finished my exam early and Ben & I booked it over there. They played so well that night! They beat Valley Christian 2-0. That night my brother Eli and two cousins Tyler and Levi stayed with us. I LOVE having company! It was fun...it was really fun watching Ben be a little boy with them again! Then today (Saturday) we went to their second round of state at 11:30am. They played a hard game against Pusch Ridge, but lost 7-2. They had quite the little team this year and will next year as well because they only lose one senior! After the game I had to book it home because I had my tax final at 4:40pm (again!) Whose idea is it to have finals on Friday and Saturday nights?! I'm not sure how I studied between all of this, but I got it done, and now I only have one more online final left on Monday night! Here is a picture of the team (for those of you who might not know, I am literally related to 9 of the 20 people in the pic!)
